Blake Hargett has more than 30 years of experience in EMS. Hargett began as an EMT in Sheffield, Alabama, in 1982. In 1987, he completed paramedic school at the University of Alabama, Huntsville. He then worked in the Shoals area for six years as a paramedic supervisor for an all ALS service.

For the next seven years, Hargett was a paramedic instructor in an all ALS service in Corinth, Mississippi. He continued his education in firefighting and safety with a degree from Louisiana State University as a certified firefighter specializing in aircraft and confined space rescue.

Hargett has experience in developing and managing safety program for major oil companies, traveling as far as Egypt, Angola, South Africa, Singapore, Malaysia and numerous locations in and around the Gulf of Mexico.

After the tornados that caused massive damage in Alabama in 2011, Hargett returned home to meet the increased need for paramedics. Hargett joined Shoals Ambulance shortly afterwards and has served as the operations manager since 2012. Hargett works to make a difference in the local health care system and its STEMI and stroke teams and looks forward to continuing to working with all the paramedics and firefighters and the community.
