Shoals Ambulance hosting N95 mask fit testing, training on personal protective equipment for first responders
Shoals Ambulance will be hosting a N95 mask fit testing and training on disease prevention and personal protective equipment (PPE) for local first responders, law enforcement and emergency medical services on Friday, March 6 at 6 p.m. at the University of North Alabama, East Campus, 1640 Tune Ave, Florence, AL 35630.
Shoals Ambulance Paramedic Supervisor Lori Wear will lead the PPE training and how emergency responders can protect themselves from infectious diseases in the field. Shoals Ambulance will be providing a N95 mask to every attendee of the training class.
Alabama State Department of Public Health Emergency Preparedness Coordinator Elizabeth Foster will conduct the N95 fit testing. Foster also will present the latest updates on current and potential infectious diseases in Alabama, including the current Hepatitis A outbreak in Alabama and precautions and preparations for the novel coronavirus, COVID-19.
